It all starts here.
Each saddle starts out as a couple sides of Hermann Oak premium quality skirting leather. The pieces are strategically cut from specific parts of the hide, depending on the form and function of the individual piece. Most of them will be cut down further later in the process to match the design, style, and structure of the saddle.
This all happens in my one-woman workshop in rural Eastern Oregon
